We make all our major drivetrain components — engine, transmission, axles — in house to guarantee performance, toughness, and tenacity. In fact, other leading tractor brands rely on our engines under the hood to power their machines.
Yanmar takes its name from two sources. The first is our founder, Magokichi Yamaoka, who said that “to conserve fuel is to serve mankind.” The second is the yanma dragonfly, which symbolizes rebirth, courage, strength, and happiness and Japanese folklore. You can see the dragonfly in our logo: it reminds us every day of what we stand for.
